Greetings to all residents and property owners of the Sheldon Beach community. We hope you enjoyed our mild winter and are ready for the nice weather which is surely on its way. This is to inform you that the annual meeting for owners and residents will be held on Monday, June 4th, 2012 at the Burtchville Township Hall, 4000 Burtch Road at 7:30 P.M.
It is imperative for you to attend as we need to ramp up participation in the activities that keep our subdivision running. We NEED new people to step up to the plate and join the board so that people who have done their duty and served their terms can be relieved and new people and ideas can be introduced to the community. The board exists to serve the residents but without participation, it is hard to get things accomplished. A good example would be the road repaving project which sincerely needs to be done, but was cancelled last year mainly due to lack of interest by the residents. Please attend the meeting with a thought towards stepping forward and lending a hand- it's your neighborhood.
We hope to have Mr. Wiley, the Drain Commissioner on hand to present his latest plan for the Lakeland drain. I think we all witnessed the need to revamp the drain after the 2 day flooding rain we experienced last June. It doesn't happen often, but when it does, it can cause a lot of damage.
Also, I have received several complaints of dogs running loose in the neighborhood and leaving their "calling cards" on neighbor's properties I would remind pet owners that state and county ordinances require dogs to be on a leash when not on their owner's property and cleaning up after your pet during a walk is the right thing to do.
We hope to see you AND your ideas at the annual meeting and remember the time is right to volunteer to serve a term on the board.
Sincerly,
Charlie Foster
President

Just a reminder on a couple of things, please watch your speed limit and the stop signs as you travel through the neighborhood, little kids are out playing.
Don't forget to pick up after Rover while he is getting his excercise. Not only is it a major inconvenience to those who step in it, it can also be a serious health threat to our
community.
Dog feces can transmit diseases from your dog to people. Roundworm, hookworm and other parasitic worms may be transmitted to young children and adults who play or work in their yard/dirt when dog feces is present. Ocular larva migrans - an eye disease caused by parasitic worms found in dog droppings can cause serious eye damage to young children.
Dog feces is also a contributor to E.coli in our lakes and streams. Please pick up after Rover!
Lake residents, keep your bushes and trees trimmed, so not to obscure your neighbor's view of the lake. Let's all do our part in keeping the streets and beaches clean and keep this a great place to live and raise our families.
Thank you for visiting.
